Kylie and Dannii Minogue are joining forces with Bluey – the hit animated TV series – for a brand new digital series called Bluey Book Reads.
Music superstars Kylie and Dannii lend their voices to the characters of Bluey and her little sister Bingo for the new series.
Bluey Book Reads combines off-screen narration from global talent with visuals from Bluey storybooks and live action shots.
Two episodes will go live each month on the Bluey YouTube channel and website Bluey.tv.
In addition to Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Bindi Irwin; Tom Daley; Romesh Ranganathan; Suranne Jones; Eva Mendes; Jordan Fisher; Camille Cottin and Rob Delaney are also involved with the digital-only series commissioned by BBC Studios Social.
The children’s TV show, which tells the story of the titular Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister Bingo, has become hugely popular since its debut in 2018, and has gone on to win several awards, including a BAFTA and an Emmy Award.
Bluey has recently become the second most streamed show in the United States.
Data released by Neilsen revealed that in 2023 viewing of the show on Disney+ had doubled from the previous year.
It was the second most streamed show in the US, garnering 43.9 billion viewing minutes and coming just behind the legal drama Suits.
Bluey achieved the incredible success in a year overshadowed by the writers’ strike in Hollywood.
The strike had minimal impact on animated series like Bluey and Cocomelon because the production of the 2023 seasons of these shows had been completed long before them.
Meanwhile in the UK episodes of Bluey have been streamed more than 363 million times on BBC iPlayer since its launch on the platform in April 2021.
Two episodes of Bluey Book Reads will go live each month on the official Bluey YouTube channel and will also be available on the official Bluey website Bluey.tv.
